We shared the tutorial of HOW TO CREATE FANCY RAKHI at home in our previous article but there is much more in our treasure for you.
In this tutorial we are going to learn to create an ELEGANT RAKHI WITH A RIBBON using just a ribbon and a cardboard in very easy steps. So read ahead to learn the entire process.

Materials Required:
Cardboard, Scale, Pencil, Scissors, Ribbon (85 cms long; any colour of your choice), Foam sheet (colour in contrast to the ribbon), thread and needle and Fevicol.

Step 1: Draw a circle of radius 3cms using the pencil and compass on the cardboard.

Step 2: Inside the circle draw a smaller circle of radius 1cm.

Step 3: Mark eight points on the outer and the inner circle in a manner that outer point and the inner point fall in one line. Join three points by drawing lines between them to make an eight legged star. Cut the star with scissors. Number each leg in the following series – 14725836, which means the first leg would be numbered as no.1 but the following leg would be numbered as no. 4 as per the series. (Pic 2)

Step 4: Make a small, circular hole in the centre of your star and pass one end of the ribbon through it. Fold the end twice and hold it on the other side of the star.

Step 5: Take the ribbon and wrap once around the leg numbered as no. 1. Then take the ribbon to the leg numbered as no. 2 and wrap around it. Likewise, wrap the ribbon around each leg in the numerical order (1,2,3,4…..8). (Pic 3)

Step 6: Repeat Step 5 one more time.

Step 7: Now stitch the folded end of the ribbon with a thread and a needle. On the other side, paste the loose end of the ribbon with fevicol.

Step 8: Carefully take out the cardboard and see the beautiful floral creation that you have created just now.

Step 9: On the foam sheet make a small spiral with a pencil and cut it out. Hold the end of the spiral and start folding it inwards. It would take the shape of a rose flower. Paste the last tip of the spiral below the foam flower to support it. (Pic 4)

Step 10: With the help of Fabric Glue, attach the foam flower onto the ribbon flower. Also attach a smaller ribbon at the back of your newly created Rakhi. Paste a small piece of cloth or paper to cover up the pasted part. (Pic 5)
